Gene - “Save me, I’m Yours”
This is from the album “Drawn to the deep end”. It is one of the most beautiful albums I own. And quite possibly ever recorded. This is an album I implore you to listen to, at least once in your life.
As beautiful an album as this is, it is also, for me, a very hard one to listen back to as it has a considerable amount of emotional and physical baggage attached to it. It takes me back to the days of my mental health issues, somewhere I try to shy away from.
I’m not sure if music, ultimately for me, ended up being more a catalyst or a sanctuary for my problems. There are still certain tracks/albums/artists that I feel I need to be careful of listening back to these days due to all the attached emotions they have. For this reason it means far too much of my CD collection, mostly all of it, sits collecting dust.
I’ll get round to conquering those demons one day. When the bittersweet memories have faded a little more.
